Something Completely Different

Okay, the last few weeks have been a lot of theoretical and theological/philosophical discussion. Here is something completely different, and kind of creepy. Can you figure out how this works? I did. Beat that. Ha!

The number a person originally chooses will always end up a multiple of nine after the additin and subtraction...

If a person chooses a number between 10-19, it will end up being 9 (10-1=9,11-2=9,12-3=9...)

If a person chooses a number between 20-29, it will end up being 18 (20-2=18,21-3=18,22-4=18...).

If a person chooses a number between 30-39, it will end up being 27 (30-3=27,31-4-27,32-5=27...).

And so on...

That was pretty cool though

Austin beat me to it. It is really quite simple as he showed. The first number I picked was 28 which was the number used in the instructions. Now that had me going for a minute. If the 28 had changed correctly to the second number I picked then I was going to call ghost busters.

When I was a math teacher I used to do something similar to my students. I'd have them pick a number, do several mathematical exercises, then write down the number and look up. At this point I'd slip on a scary mask and do my best evil laugh. Man was that fun. Unfortunately I am no longer a teacher, but any time you can mix math and creepy I'm in.

The fact that you used to be a math teacher only enhances the mystery that is mofast and provides the perfect garnish for an already stellar reputation.
